Indian equity indices on Monday opened higher amid global cues while investors wait for the Union Budget this week. Sensex opened at 39,580.12 up 185.48 points, or 0.47%, during the opening bell, while Nifty rises 57.20 points, or 0.49%, at 11,850.30. Rupee also gained for the sixth session on lower deficit, trade truce. The Indian currency had opened at 68.95 a dollar and touched a high of 68.90.
